LACQUER Staff Assistance

With the latest developments regarding Covid-19 and the President advising against gatherings of 10 people or more, we made the difficult decision to close our doors temporarily to do our part to encourage social distancing and prevent community spread in Austin. Like many salons and small businesses, we do not have cash reserves to pay our staff during an emergency closure like we are experiencing now. I want to do the right thing and support our staff the best we can. We will help everyone file for unemployment benefits and we are also trying to get emergency SBA loans in place, though we realize this may take time. In the meantime, we are asking for your help in donating whatever you can, even if it’s only $5 to help us support our team during this crisis as a bridge until government assistance is in place.  All money raised will go directly to the staff. I set the fundraising goal to be enough to cover one month of pay. I have no idea if that is enough or we need more.

Once we get through this, our plan is to reopen and get back to normal as much as possible. We are fortunate to already offer the safest services available in nail care and feel this will serve us well in the future as life begins to return to normal. I sincerely hope what we do becomes the new standard. We will get through this!
